Der in Hamburg lebende Künstler Axel Loytved ist fasziniert von der Fragmentierung von Dingen. In seiner künstlerischen Praxis zerlegt er Objekte des täglichen Gebrauchs und Konsum-Abfallprodukte wie Verpackungen aus z.B. Pappe, Plastik oder Glas. Er „recycelt“ diese Materialien über eine sorgsame Zerlegung und kreiert durch dieses Vorgehen eine völlig neue Perspektive darauf. Die unterschiedlichen Objekte, die Axel Loytved nahezu spielerisch im weiteren Umfeld eines Abluftschachtes des Internationales Congress Centrum (ICC) verteilt hat, reagieren auf die Geschichte, Gestaltung und Ortsspezifik des seit acht Jahren geschlossenen enormen Gebäudes. Trotz der Schließung läuft die Lüftung weiter, als schliefe es tief und fest. Loytved nutzt diese immaterielle Erweiterung des Hauses und befüllt seine luftig-leichten Objekte mit der Abluft. Diese tanzen nun ununterbrochen im „Wind of Change“ (Rockballade der Band Scorpions aus dem Jahr 1989).

Hamburg-based artist Axel Loytved is fascinated by the fragmentation of things. In his artistic practice, he mainly dismantles objects of daily use or consumer waste such as packaging made of cardboard, plastic or glass. He “recycles” these materials through careful disassembling and through this process creates a completely new perspective on them. The various objects that Axel Loytved has distributed almost playfully in the wider environment of the exhaust shaft of the Internationales Congress Centrum (ICC) respond to the history, design, and site specificity of the enormous building, which has been closed for eight years. Despite the closure, the building‘s ventilation
continues as if it were fast asleep. Loytved takes advantage of this immaterial extension and fills his light-as-air objects with the exhaust air. They are now dancing continuously in the ‘Wind of Change‘ (rock ballad by the German band Scorpions from 1989).
